Protecting the Community’s Health
PROTECTING THE COMMUNITY’S HEALTH
While public health’s work focuses primarily on the communitywide prevention of illness and injury, certain health services for individuals are critical to safeguarding the community’s health.
COMMUNICABLE DISEASE CONTROL
Monitoring, preventing, and controlling communicable diseases, such as flu, rabies, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and tuberculosis (TB), are part of our overall effort to protect and promote our community’s health and quality of life.
PARENT-CHILD HEALTH
We offer support and education to people who are pregnant and parents of young children, so that all Kitsap children get off to a good start and can thrive in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.
INFORMATION FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS
We operate as partners with the full range of our community’s medical and veterinary care providers, hospitals and other care facilities, pharmacies, and school nurses. This partnership is essential in protecting our community’s health.
