The virus that causes COVID-19 can spread from person to person through the air. The virus spreads more easily in indoor spaces where fresh air is not circulating.
You can reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 in indoor spaces by ensuring fresh air is flowing in and out of rooms (ventilation) and by filtering air to make it cleaner to breathe.
When possible, avoid gathering with others in crowded indoor spaces that are not well ventilated. You can further reduce your risk of getting or spreading viruses indoors by appropriately wearing a high-quality mask, keeping extra space between yourself and others, and following other prevention steps.
