We are kicking off the second year of Kitsap Moves and we would love your help!

Launched in 2022, the Kitsap Moves initiative encourages community members to get their recommended amount of daily activity by engaging in their favorite modes of movement. Whether you walk, run, peddle, paddle, or dance, the important thing is to keep moving!

We hope to build on the momentum created in the county last year with the help of our partners. You may have joined us on a storytelling walk with the Kitsap Sun, checked out yoga at the Bremerton Farmer's Market, or participated in a Mama Moves event. If you didn't, now is a perfect time to join in!

Finding a movement routine that works for you is key to supporting your physical and mental health.

There are many immediate and long-term benefits to staying active, including:

  • Improved sleep quality

  • Reduced feelings of anxiety

  • Reduced blood pressure

You can learn more by viewing the CDC's recommended activity levels for children, adults, and older adults.

So are you ready to get moving this May? We know we are!

Keep up with events and challenges here.

Make sure to follow Kitsap Public Health District on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter so that you don't miss out on any of the fun we have in store!

Don't know where to start? We've got you covered!

Kitsap Moves isn't just about staying active at home and in the community. Employers can help employees lead healthier lives by supporting healthy movement on and off the clock!

Our Employer Toolkit (PDF) offers four main steps that will help your organization get ready to build healthy habits. Planning to participate? Let us know by taking the Kitsap Moves Pledge!
