At Kitsap Public Health, our jobs are about as local as you can get.

As you read this post, one of our colleagues might be sampling for bacteria in the stream down the street from your house, helping a school in your neighborhood prevent the spread of a contagious illness, or checking for health hazards in the kitchen of your favorite restaurant.

Visit by visit, call by call, person by person, public health touches the lives of everyone in Kitsap County.

That’s why the theme of this year’s National Public Heath Week – “It starts here” – is especially meaningful to us. Our team of more than 100 professionals is committed to creating a safe and healthy Kitsap County for all. And by providing vital local public health services in our communities, we do our part to create a healthier Washington, a healthier nation, and a healthier world.

Follow along April 7-13 as we post daily highlights from our local public health week, inspired by National Public Health Week priority areas:

Monday, April 7

Tuesday, April 8

Wednesday, April 9

Thursday, April 10

Friday, April 11
