Our vision: A safe and healthy Kitsap County for all.
Data to Inspire Action
Using data and the science of epidemiology, we study the causes, occurrence, and distribution of health and disease in Kitsap. We identify health concerns and the factors that can cause them and help prioritize public health and community resources to address them.
Who lives in our community?
How healthy and safe are we?
How healthy are our behaviors and lifestyles?
How healthy is our environment?
What are the trends in disease?
Are there any areas or people in our county more affected than others?
Our data are useful to a wide range of community members:
a doctor might be interested in the current infectious disease rates, so that her clinic can take action to identify and prevent the spread of disease in her patients;
health data might be beneficial for a grant application that would bring more resources to our county to work on improving our health;
KPHD and community partner programs may use data to ensure resources and supports are targeted to residents who need them the most;
a student could use health data in a school report; and
a drive to improve your own health and the health of your friends and neighbors might compel your own interest.
