Internships

A Career with Purpose in a Place You'll Love

Environmental health specialists. Registered nurses. Health promotion and community outreach specialists. Epidemiologists. IT experts. Administrative professionals. Program managers.

We are a diverse and dedicated team of about 100 people, working collaboratively in more than 20 different programs. About 75 percent of our staff are members of the Professional and Technical Employees Local 17.

Virtually all of us work at the award-winning Norm Dicks Government Center near the waterfront of a revitalized downtown Bremerton, close to shops, galleries, and restaurants.

We are committed to supporting the next generation of public health professionals through internship, practicums, independent study and job shadowing.

These opportunities allow you to explore a public health career by working side-by-side with employees that are passionate about keeping their communities safe and healthy.

Our employees are the heart of our agency and our mission, with professionals in many different fields, including environmental health specialists, public health nurses, case managers, community liaisons, epidemiologists, accountants, IT specialists, permitting and clerical workers, analysts, and more.

How to apply

We are currently accepting applications for the summer quarter. Deadline is April 29, 2025.

To apply for an internship, practicum, or independent study, please:

Internships will be reviewed and considered based on the capacity and project availability within each of our programs. Placements are not guaranteed.
