Helping Kitsap Families Thrive
Our team of nurses, breastfeeding/chestfeeding experts, and community health workers is dedicated to offering support and education to people who are pregnant, parents of young children, and families.
Our goal is to help all Kitsap children thrive in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

What we do
Nurse-Family Partnership: A program that provides a free nurse for people who are pregnant with their first baby.
Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs: We provide resources and referrals for families and caretakers of children experiencing physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional conditions.
Mama Moves Kitsap: A nurse-led group that encourages healthy movement and social time for parents of babies.
Black Infant Thrive: A program to address maternal and infant health disparities and challenges faced by our Black community.
Kitsap Supports Breastfeeding: A campaign promoting the benefits of natural feeding for infants with links to local services.
Resources for people who are pregnant and new parents.
Improving maternal & infant health
In 2023, Kitsap Public Health District, in partnership with Kitsap County and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, hosted the Kitsap Maternal Infant Health Forum at the Marvin Williams Recreation Center in Bremerton.
The goal of the forum was to foster collaboration, inspire knowledge exchange, and most importantly, share innovative solutions for protecting and improving the health of people who give birth and their infants in Kitsap County.
We continue to forward initiatives to advance maternal and infant health in Kitsap. Learn more:
